11.05.07 ~ Lara and Steve
Basilica of Saint Lawrence and
Grove
Park Inn Resort, Asheville
Brides often
hire me to arrive anywhere from 2-3 hours
before their ceremony to take what I call
"getting ready" pictures.
The time I spend
with the bride often includes photographing
the bride getting dressed, detailed pictures
of her dress... flowers... shoes...
handbag... handkerchief... something blue...
something borrowed/etc.
This is also a
time where I take portraits of the
bride with her immediate family and, of
course, fun portraits with the bridesmaids!
Most importantly, this is when I
like to capture a variety of bridal
portraits.
When time
allows, I love to go outside and walk around
to different locations/backdrops for bridal
portraits. Lara got ready on a perfect
autumn day at the Grove Park Inn and I was
so excited to go outside to take her pictures -
especially with all the beautiful
architecture and fall foliage.
Unfortunately,
as it happens with many weddings, the gals
began to run a little bit behind schedule and I
realized that for the sake of time, I was
going to have to take her bridal portraits
right there in the room!
As it turns out,
the simplicity of surroundings and the soft
window light made for a perfect portrait
location allowing Lara's natural beauty to
really shine through.

Speaking of shine,
don't forget to shine up your ring before
your wedding. Lara mentioned to me
that she had just had her ring cleaned and
it really had an amazing...

...sparkle!
